Beginning -
Creating beautiful paintings was not enough for me. I always wanted to do better and improve in my work. Practicing regularly, acquiring additional knowledge through books and watching live demos on internet and visiting art exhibitions to keep myself up to date does help a little. But actual journey of learning Art began after I joined an Art school in New Delhi, India. I learnt the basics of how to compose, create and design my artworks. The knowledge enabled me to improve and evaluate my own paintings. In short , the guidance and knowledge imparted by an experienced teacher is very important for any beginner.
My process -
My favourite procedure for creating artwork has been to take photographs of places I visited . The photographs I click are mostly randomly taken capturing the moment in time with no special intentions behind. Later, I reconstruct some interesting scene by combining those random photos. I generally don’t paint ‘plein air’ . An example is below:

My Subjects -
I have found that I generally love observing the flora & fauna and people of the place I am visiting. This also reflects in the subjects I choose for my paintings.
Diversifying from traditional methods -
In 2024, I published a book on my life experiences. In that book I had added some illustrations which I had made on Procreate. It was completely a new experience for me.
Some upcoming projects –
It is my belief that a good artist should be able to connect with the viewer through his / her paintings. Hence I endeavour to create paintings which are not only aesthetic but carry some message verbal or otherwise. I am planning to add handmade corporate greeting cards to my portfolio.
My Art Journey goes on !
